It is with deep sadness that the community of Bayonne remembers and honors the lives of Charlie Carangelo, 58, and Kim Carangelo, 59, who passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Their unexpected passing has left a profound sense of loss among family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing them.

Charlie and Kim were devoted partners who shared a life rooted in love, loyalty, and family. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and connection, always opening their doors and hearts to those around them. Kim was a loving mother to John McShea and Crystie Smith, and a proud grandmother to Leah Smith, Joseph Smith, and Meadow McShea. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love were felt deeply by her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

Charlie and Kim were the beloved children of the late Charles Carangelo and Regina Iovino. They are also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who will forever cherish their memory. Both were known for their kindness, humor, and genuine care for others, qualities that made them deeply loved within their extended family and community.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, February 21, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at G. Keenen O’Brien Funeral Home, located at 984 Avenue C, Bayonne. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent’s Church. Private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Bayonne Fire Canteen in care of Will Chwalik, 289 Avenue A, Bayonne, NJ, as a way to honor Charlie and Kim’s legacy of generosity and community support.

Though their lives were cut short, Charlie and Kim Carangelo will be remembered for the love they shared, the family they cherished, and the lasting impact they made on everyone who knew them. Their memory will live on in the hearts of those they leave behind.
